The PATA Yamaha World Superbike team lifted the covers off its 2018 YZF-R1 contender at an official team launch in Portimao earlier this month. Riders Alex Lowes (#22) and Michael van der Mark (#60) will head up the 2018 campaign and we’re proud to announce our partnership with the team as they challenge for the riders’ and constructors' world titles.
The team officially launched its 2018 campaign on February 9th ahead of the first race of the season at Phillip Island, Australia, this weekend! The team unveiled a heavily updated YZF-R1 package, new sponsors, revised bike livery and team wear to the world. Muc-Off joins PATA Snack, Rizla, Yamalube, Akrapovic, and Acerbis as sponsors of the Verwood based PATA Yamaha team.
Following a successful 2017 season, finishing 4th and 5th respectively in the rider world standings and with a rewarding 2018 preseason testing programme now complete, the PATA Yamaha Official WSBK Team launches into the 2018 FIM World Superbike Championship at Phillip Island full of confidence.
Alex Trimnell, Muc-Off Managing Director commented:
We are extremely excited and proud to join the PATA Yamaha Official WSBK Team for the 2018 season, as we move up from British Superbikes to the world stage reflecting the global nature of our business, it’s a fantastic fit for Muc-off
He went onto add:
