Muc-Off was founded in 1994 and are now the leading supplier of specialist cycling cleaning and maintenance products in the UK. Following 5 years of explosive growth the company is expanding fast into the European, Asian and North American markets focusing on its core categories of cycling, motorcycle and Athlete performance products.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance your responsibility will be to provide financial, commercial and strategic support to the Muc-Off management team from a product & marketing perspective, providing valuable insight that drives commercial results.


What we are looking for:

  1. Planning and performance monitoring
    1. Support business partners to produce the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts including commentary
    2. Lead revenue / margin / contribution reporting and explanation of performance against budget, prior performance and market conditions
  • Highlight future risks and opportunities by reforecasting the in-year expected results
  1. Provide commentary to be included in the monthly business performance review and report to the board


2.  Provide meaningful analysis and collaborate to produce insight

  1. Understand the drivers of current performance
  2. Use internal and external information to extrapolate future performance based on scenario planning
  • Work with business partners to turn analysis into value adding insight


3.  Manage strategic objectives

  1. Work with business partner to produce the strategic plan using insightful analysis
  2. Turn the strategic plan into strategic objectives
  • Support the production of commercially viable business cases to deliver the strategic initiatives
  1. Turn strategic initiatives into budget deliverables
  2. Monitor and track the delivery of strategic initiatives


4.  Finance projects


  1. Support finance projects as required including supporting acquisitions, embracing digital, seeking operational efficiencies.


5.  Support the Head Of Finance

  1. Assist the Head of Finance with financial, commercial and strategic support for the sales functions


Essential Experience Required:

  • Commercially focused Finance professional with a pro-active outlook
  • First class analytical skills, track record of identifying issues and delivering
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to translate numbers into a business story
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate with all levels of the business
  • Previous experience in a finance business partner role
  • Advanced/Expert Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with VBA is essential
  • SAP B1 experience is desirable
  • QualifiedCIMA/ACCA/ACA or the desire to study
  • Batchelors Degree ideally in Business, Mathematics\Finance
