How To Clean, Protect & Lube Your Motorcycle Chain
Once you’ve ensured that the bike is completely cool, spray some Bio Chain Cleaner directly onto the chain and sprockets. Leave for a few minutes to activate and then remove any stubborn grime using a specially designed Motorcycle Chain Brush. Rinse with water and leave to drive.
Before applying lubricant, you want to ensure that your chain is completely free of any moisture, especially in between the links. If you don’t, you risk rusting from the inside out. Give it a quick spray with our Motorcycle Protectant, which has a high P.T.F.E content, to drive out any remaining liquid. It will also help prevent dirt adhesion next time you hit the road.
Finally, we move on to lubrication. It’s important to choose the right product for the conditions you’ll be riding it. For all-weather and long distances, use our Endurance Chain Lube. For wet and harsh conditions, stick with the Extreme Lube. And if you’re riding in the dry, use our Dry Chain Lube. For best results, leave the product overnight to permeate deep into the link.
How often should you lube the chain? Some people clean and lube their chain after every ride. Some say every 500 miles. As the rider, you’ll know when it’s best to give your chain a little TLC.
