Struggling to steer the bike or get comfortable when you tuck in?

Your bars might be set too narrow.

Scott Redding says he still sees riders running their bars close together, like they did in the old two-stroke days.

That can leave you with less leverage to steer and less room for your arms on the straight.

Scott’s tip: try a wider bar position

Angling your bars out by a couple of degrees will move your hands farther apart. That extra leverage may give you a better feel for the bike round corners and make it easier to settle into a tuck position on the straights.

Find a position that feels right for you and your bike.

After any adjustment, check that the controls are secure and clear the tank and fairing throughout the full steering range. Ask a qualified mechanic if you’re unsure.
