OUR STORY
We’ve always been about innovation and pushing performance. It all kicked off back in 91 when Rex and Marilyn Trimnell started X-Lite UK, by making the world’s first twin crown bicycle fork and the world’s lightest bar ends. They would later create the Muc-Off brand in 1994.
Chris Froome becomes the second-ever British Tour de France winner. While we were not yet an official supplier for Team Sky, they were using Muc-Off products throughout this historic victory – proving that we could compete with the top dogs in the pro peloton.
Muc-Off become the official supplier to Team Sky. It was (and still is) one of the most significant signings for Muc-Off. 2014 was the beginning of an incredible partnership, complete with product innovation and Grand Tour wins that would shape our new era.
Muc-Off and Team Sky waste no time in getting down to business. We worked together to create our now infamous Hydrodynamic Lube, which would go on to become our most successful lube loved by pro riders to everyday shredders.
Froome-y takes yellow once again with his second win at the prestigious Tour de France. The victory made him the first-ever British rider to win two Tour de France races. Our first year using the new Hydrodynamic Lube developed with Team Sky gets off to the perfect start.
In the quest to destroy the hour record, we partnered with Team Wiggins to optimise 40 Shimano Dura-Ace chains using our state-of-the-art lab equipment. We deep cleaned and treated the chains with a range of secret additives for maximum speed and shifting efficiency. He went on to beat Alex Dowsett’s record and rode a distance of 54.526km!
It’s back-to-back TDF wins for Froome and INEOS, making him a British cycling legend. We’re once again stoked to be involved in another Tour de France victory – it seems winning Grand Tours is just what we do now.
Muc-Off support British Cycling to take on the biggest show on earth – the Olympic Games in Rio. Team GB smash it, taking home 13 Olympic medals, powered by the world’s fastest bike chain lube at the time – our mighty NTC.
At one point during 2016, Muc-Off and Team Sky were at the top of the sport. During the year the team collected every single Grand Tour leader’s jersey. The consistency of our testing provides teams with the most reliable products so they can do what they do best – win races!
Chris Froome finally gets the elusive win at the iconic Spanish race, Vuelta a España. After three runner-up finishes, he took the W on his Pinarello powered by, you guessed it, Muc-Off.
Chris Froome once again takes the win at the Tour de France for INEOS. His Pinarello flies through the stages with Hydrodynamic Lube providing the best drivetrain performance around.
Our R&D team change the game once again with our Nano Tube Chain and Lube. We mass-produce treated chains and a new lube so everyday riders can now buy a chain that’s faster than anything else out there, to take their drivetrain performance to the next level.
Geraint Thomas takes his first Tour de France victory and yet another win for INEOS. It was a long road to his first Tour de France victory after making his debut in 2008. Once again, he was backed with the best bike care and performance products in the biz.
The performance domination continues, as Egan Bernal aboard his Pinarello for INEOS, takes a fifth Tour de France win in a row! This becomes our sixth all-time win and proves there really is no match for the mighty Muc-Off.
We worked with Bahrain McLaren to develop an oversized pulley wheel system to perform on cycling’s biggest stage – the 2020 Tour de France. Mikel Landa takes on stage 20 using LOPS for the very first time in competition. It turns heads, paving the way for future riders to start using this epic innovation.
After three years of work from our lab boffins, Ludicrous AF is handed over to INEOS Grenadiers and EF Education-NIPPO to use in secret, at the 2020 Grand Tour races. It smashes any other lube out of the park and cements itself as the world’s fastest, with an overall win at Giro d’Italia.
The Grand Tour wins just keep rolling in, as we take home three Giro victories in four years. The 2020 and 2021 wins, once again using the game-changing Ludicrous AF lube – proving it really can’t be beaten at the highest level of racing.
Ludicrous AF is released into the wild, giving regular riders pro-peloton drivetrain technology to help them demolish Strava segments and PBs. They can now feel the speed in the same way so many cycling greats have over the years.
