If you've been following the SMX Next series this year, chances are you’ve already heard the name Alex Fedortsov. At just 18 years old, the young talent has officially signed on to go pro with the Muc-Off FXR ClubMX team—and we couldn’t be more stoked.
After an electrifying season that crowned him the 2025 SMX Next Champion, Fedortsov is set to make his professional debut at Round 1 of the Pro Motocross Championship in Pala, California. This is more than just another contract signing—this is a new chapter for one of the most exciting prospects in motocross.
The SMX Next Standout
From the start of the season, Fedortsov made it clear that he was a force to be reckoned with. Fastest qualifier in four out of five rounds. Lap leader in four out of five rounds. Even when things didn’t go his way—like the flat tire in Daytona or the late tip-over in Birmingham—he stayed focused on the bigger picture. And that mindset paid off.
At the SMX Next National Championship in Pittsburgh, Alex came out swinging. He passed teammate Jesson Turner in the second corner and never looked back, leading every lap and sealing the title in style. That win didn't just earn him a championship—it cemented his future.

Built at ClubMX
Alex’s story didn’t start in Pittsburgh, though. His racing journey began when he was just six years old, competing around the world. But things really clicked when he and his family moved to the ClubMX Training Facility in Chesterfield, South Carolina, in 2022. Since then, ClubMX has become home.
The coaching, the nutrition, the mindset—every aspect of his development was sharpened at ClubMX. And now, with the ink dry on a long-term deal, Alex is ready to take on the pro ranks with the same grit that got him here.
Eyes on the Prize
“I really have nothing more to prove to myself in the amateur ranks,” says Fedortsov. “It’s a bit of a risk but one I’m willing to take. The Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX team has always had my back, and I’m so thankful to be stepping into the pros with them.” - Alex Fedortsov, Club MX rider
He also gave a nod to Donnie Luce and Yamaha for their belief in him and support through the SMX Next program. It’s clear—this kid gets it. He knows where he came from and he’s focused on where he’s going.
A Coach’s Confidence
ClubMX team owner Brandon Haas put it best:
“It’s rare to see a rider with this level of talent in both Motocross and Supercross at such a young age. Alex has impressed us at every step, and winning the SMX Next title just confirmed everything we saw in him. He’s not rattled by pressure, he listens, and he works. The decision to move him up was easy.” Brandon Haas - Club MX owner
What’s Next?
Fedortsov’s pro campaign kicks off May 24th in Pala, CA, with eleven rounds on the calendar, including iconic tracks like Budds Creek. While many of these tracks are new to him, his experience from events like the Loretta Lynn qualifiers and Moto Scouting Combine will give him a leg up.
He’ll be rocking the number #784, a tribute to his idol Jeffrey Herlings, who wore the same number when racing in the U.S. at Ironman Raceway back in 2017. It’s a bold move—and one done with serious respect.
