About the Role
The Senior Product & Compliance Technologist supports the development, implementation and ongoing management of the organisation’s compliance programme. This role monitors regulatory requirements, evaluates compliance risks, conducts reviews and investigations, and advises business teams on policies and regulatory obligations.
We’re looking for a proactive and meticulous Senior Product & Compliance Technologist to join the Muc-Off team, helping us deliver compliance across all products and countries in accordance with relevant regulations.
This role reports directly to the Product Compliance & Quality Manager and will provide mentorship and guidance to the Junior Compliance Technologist and the Compliance Artworker.
What we’re looking for:
A confident individual with industry compliance experience who can coordinate across teams and ensure all outputs meet regulatory standards. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across international markets are essential. Accuracy and consistency sit at the heart of this role, so a methodical approach and the ability to work effectively at pace are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor changes in applicable UK and EU laws, regulations, industry standards and internal requirements.
- Assess the impact of regulatory developments and recommend appropriate policy, process or control updates.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, testing, audits and control reviews.
- Identify compliance gaps, document findings and work with business owners to develop corrective action plans.
- Track remediation activities and verify that corrective actions are completed effectively and on schedule.
- Review business practices, transactions, communications and documentation for compliance with applicable requirements.
- Develop, maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, controls and supporting documentation.
- Provide practical compliance guidance to business units and serve as a subject-matter resource.
- Investigate potential violations, complaints, conflicts of interest and other compliance concerns.
- Prepare clear investigation reports, risk summaries, dashboards and management reports.
- Support regulatory examinations, external audits, internal audits and information requests.
- Design and deliver compliance training and awareness programmes.
- Perform due diligence and compliance reviews involving vendors, customers and other third parties.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Analyse compliance data to identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for process improvement.
- Mentor junior compliance staff and review their work when assigned.
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability and ethical conduct throughout the organisation.
Desired Experience/Skillset:
- Five or more years of relevant experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, internal audit, legal operations or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and compliance programme principles.
- Experience conducting compliance monitoring, testing, risk assessments or investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical business requirements.
- Strong analytical, research, documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise independent judgement and handle confidential information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity and reporting tools.
