When Coty Schock makes a move, he does it with intention. The Muc-Off FXR ClubMX rider is making headlines once again, this time by jumping into the deep end of the pool: Coty is officially moving up to the 450 class for the 2025 outdoor motocross season.
From 250 Hero to 450 Contender
Fresh off a strong Supercross campaign in the 250 class, Coty isn’t taking the easy road. With just a tight window of time before the first gate drop at Pala on May 24, he’s opted to forgo valuable SMX points and go full-send into the premier class. Risky? Sure. But Coty’s no stranger to betting on himself—and history shows that when he does, it pays off.
“I really wanted to get back on the 450 at some point and this feels like the right time,” Coty said. “I know the risks with the points and all that, but I’m confident I can get the job done to reap the rewards later in the year.” Coty Schock, Club MX #37
Why the 450 Move Makes Sense
This isn’t Coty’s first dance in the premier class. He raced full-time in the 450s back in 2021, and with a few years of development, testing, and raw grind behind him, he’s built a riding style that naturally suits the bigger bike. He’s fast, composed, and carries a race IQ that will make him competitive at every round.
Team owner Brandon Haas put it best:
“Coty is the consummate team player. When he said he wanted to do it, the team went to work building him something special. The power-to-weight ratio plays to his advantage, and his mature riding style and race craft are exactly what you want in a 450 rider.” Brandon Haas, Club MX owner
Muc-Off and the Team Are All In
This move isn’t just about one rider—it’s about the entire Muc-Off FXR Club MX Yamaha crew stepping up. The shop's been buzzing with engine tuning, suspension testing, and late-night bike builds. Coty's decision triggered a full-team push to bring a competitive 450 to the line.
The switch also brings a massive boost in exposure for our partners and sponsors. The premier class is where the lights shine brightest, and with Coty behind the bars of the #37 Yamaha, we’re all set to make some noise.
What’s Next? Pala and Beyond
Set your reminders: Saturday, May 24th at Pala is the first test—and it’s coming fast. With Coty in the mix, fans can expect fireworks right out of the gate. The team’s goal? Start up front. And if history’s any indication, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
We’re beyond stoked to have Coty flying the flag in the 450 class this season. Big respect to him for chasing the challenge, and to Yamaha for backing the mission.
This is going to be fun.
