About the role

The Production Administrator provides administrative support to the production team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, efficient workflow coordination, and timely communication across departments. The role helps maintain production schedules, monitor inventory and materials, and support compliance with company procedures and quality standards.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and update production schedules, records, and databases.
  • Prepare production reports and spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement and warehouse teams.
  • Process production orders and work instructions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control activities.
  • Track material usage and production output.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for quality, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Organise meetings, take minutes and distribute relevant information.
  • Assist with purchase orders, supplier communications and delivery tracking.
  • Support audits by preparing and retrieving required documentation.
  • Handle general administrative tasks including filing, data entry and correspondence.

 

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP or production management systems is advantageous.
  • GCSEs, A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • A diploma or certification in Business Administration, Operations or a related field is desirable.
  • 1–3 years' administrative experience within a production, manufacturing or operations environment is preferred.
