POOLE, 5th DECEMBER 2025, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Muc-Off, has announced it will be backing long-supported athlete James Hillier at the 2026 Dakar in the notoriously punishing Malle Moto class.

Riding a Kove 450 Rally decked out head to toe in full Muc-Off Racing livery, Hillier will face the world’s toughest off-road race with no mechanic, no crew, and no safety net — just the grit, skill, and fearlessness he’s become famed for. With riders responsible for every aspect of their machine, Hillier will rely heavily on Muc-Off’s extensive care range to keep the bike running clean, protected, and shifting smoothly through thousands of kilometres of sand, mud, rocks, and brutal conditions.

The Malle Moto category is widely respected as one of the purest tests in motorsport. Riders must service their own bikes, manage their own kit, and survive the elements with nowhere to hide. With sand-blasted drivetrains, extreme temperature swings, and constant exposure to moisture and dust, the right cleaning, lubrication, and protection products become crucial — exactly the kind of environment Muc-Off products are built for.

The Dakar takes everything you think you know about racing and ramps it right upyou’re the rider, the mechanic, and the problem-solver. Keeping the bike running out there is half the battle, so having Muc-Off supporting me again, and being able to rely on the products I’ve used for years, makes a massive difference. They know the demands of these environments, and I trust their gear completely. I can’t wait to get into the dunes.” James Hillier.

Earlier this year, Muc-Off stepped in to keep Hillier on the grid at the Isle of Man TT, ensuring he could compete when his entry was under threat. That same commitment now carries forward into Dakar.

“James taking on the Dakar is the ultimate test of rider and machine, and we knew we had to back him. We’ve supported him for over a decade — he’s part of the Muc-Off family. Seeing the Muc-Off livery charging across the dunes is going to be awesome, and knowing our products are helping keep that him running in the harshest conditions on the planet makes it even more special. Alex Trimnell, CEO, Muc-Off.
