The Bennetts British Superbike Championship went full throttle at Donington Park, and Muc-Off rider Scott Redding was right in the thick of it. From a record-shattering pole lap to a race win and three podiums, Redding proved he’s back and bringing serious heat to the BSB grid.
Record-Breaking Pole Position
Scott wasted zero time making headlines. In Saturday’s Bandero Café Shoot Out, he absolutely sent it on the Hager PBM Ducati, smashing the Donington lap record to grab Pole Position by just 0.051s. With the top 12 riders covered by less than a second, it was proof that Redding’s pace is pure fire — and he was just getting started.
Race One: Back On Top
From pole, Redding turned on the style. Fast, fierce, and in full control, he fended off defending champ Kyle Ryde to bag a statement Race One victory. A proper “we’re back” moment.
Race Two: Bar-to-Bar with Ryde
Sunday kicked off with an all-out slugfest. Redding and Ryde went bar-to-bar in one of the races of the season. Scott launched a brave late move at the Melbourne Loop, but a deep entry gave Ryde the chance to fight straight back. After a final-lap charge, Redding crossed the line in P2 — a battle for the ages.
Race Three: Podium Scrap
Launching like a rocket, Redding grabbed the holeshot in Race Three, leading Ryde and Bradley Ray in a high-octane scrap. After a Safety Car pause, the gloves came back off. Redding and Ryde traded blows at Craner Curves and the Old Hairpin before Ray slipped through into second. Scott fought hard to the flag, locking down another podium in P3.
Race Four: Last-Lap Heroics
The finale brought more drama. After a rough start and running wide at the Fogarty Esses, Redding found himself shuffled back to seventh. But you don’t keep this man down. He dug deep, carved his way back through the field, and on the very last lap pulled off a textbook move at the Melbourne Hairpin to snatch third place from Leon Haslam — his third podium of the weekend.
Stay filthy. Stay fast. The Comeback Kid is just getting started.
