Happy New Year! Welcome to our first Tech Tuesday of 2021. To kick things off with a bang, we’re looking into why our Bike Protect is one of our most popular products around.

What is Bike Protect?

Bike Protect is the ultimate liquid bicycle protection. This little can of magic will preserve and freshen up your bike with its unbelievable water dispersing properties. It’s absolutely perfect for using after you’ve given your bike a wash. It’ll protect all the crucial parts you want it to against corrosion and that pesky rust thanks to its extremely high oil content. That extra oil makes it the finest bike protection spray around.

It drives out moisture and leaves a sparkling, non-sticky protective layer on your frame, drive chain, metal parts and paintwork. It’s ideal to spray onto your chain to drive out moisture before you apply any of our brilliant Muc-Off chain lubes.

What’s the difference between Bike Protect and Silicone Shine?

So while Bike Protect is brilliant at keeping rust and other corrosion away, Silicone Shine does a different job – but the two can be used together.

Note: Designed as a corrosion inhibitor and to be applied on all bike surfaces: frame, chainstay and bars.

Note: Although this won't hurt your frame (it will make it shine!), Silicon Shine is pre-dominantly designed as a friction reducer for your suspension.

Silicone Shine is ideal for keeping things moving. Specifically, suspension components, as it acts as an amazing friction reducer and reduces dirt adhesion. But that’s not all, as it also gives your bike a factory fresh finish wherever you use it. All you need to do is spray it onto your fork stanchions and rear shock to reduce resistance. Giving you silky smooth suspension performance, ride after ride.

Here’s a quick-fire guide on using Bike Protect and Silicone Shine…

Where to apply
Bike Protect: all over your frame, chain and cranks.
Silicon Shine: on suspension stanchions.

How to apply
Either straight onto your bike or onto a cloth and wiped on for a more precise application.

Where not to apply
Your disc brakes. Make sure you’ve got our Disc Brake Covers handy to avoid overspray getting on your rotors.

Ready to give your pride and joy the protection it deserves? If that’s a ‘yes way!’ Then head over here to grab yourself some Bike Protect and Silicone Shine.
