Cleaning your bike can seem like an impossible task, especially after a heavy weekend in the saddle. However, with the right equipment and a bit of know-how, your bike will be back to perfect condition in no time at all.
Our Dirt Bucket Kit has been specifically designed to provide an all-in-one cleaning package with everything you need to rejuvenate your beloved bike.
Let's get started!
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR BIKE
The first step in bringing your filthy bike back to its former self is to remove any buildups of dirt and grime from the frame without damaging the paintwork.
To do this, start by spraying the entirety of your bike in a high-performance cleaning solution like our Nano Tech Bike Cleaner. This will begin to break down the hardened dirt without damaging your bike's paintwork.
Once the solution has had some time to act on the dirt, it's time to get the hose out. Using hot water, spray your bike from head to toe (or wheel to handlebar) - as the dirt has been broken down, the majority should now fall off with ease.
Some areas (such as the drivetrain) require a little more attention though. Cover the Claw Brush in Bio Drivetrain Cleaner and thoroughly scrub all areas of drivetrain including the gears, cassette and chain until they are free of dirt.
Now that the bike itself has been fully cleaned, the only thing to do is remove any excess water. Grab your Expanding Microcell Sponge and gently rub down all wet areas of the bike until there are no more drips.
Thanks to the Dirt Bucket Kit's innovative "Filth Filter" there's no need to worry about grime making its way back onto your sponge or brushes. Simply place the items you're not currently using into the bucket and any dirty water will cascade into the bottom, away from your important cleaning equipment.
Hey presto! Just like new!
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR BIKE
Now that you've given your ride a new lease of life, an important next step is to protect it from future damage and build ups of moisture and grime. Fortunately, you've got just the thing!
Apply a coating of Bike Protect over your frame, drivetrain, paintwork and any metal surfaces (just make sure to avoid applying to your brake discs and tyre treads!).
Bike Protect's high oil formula helps prevent corrosion and creates a non-sticky protective layer wherever it's applied.
Pro tip: when using Bike Protect make sure to protect your disc brakes by covering them with a cloth.
HOW TO LUBE YOUR BIKE
The final step in this bike-TLC-mega-guide is to use a high-performance lubricant to maximise your drivetrain efficiency for your next adventure.
Depending on the conditions, carefully apply either Bio Dry Lube or Bio Wet Lube to your bike's chains whilst slowly rotating the chainset backwards. This will ensure your chain is provided with an even coverage.
Now, simply use a cloth to wipe away and residual lubricant and you're done!
